How Long Does a Tin of Kendamil Formula Last?

By Kendamil Ghana · Updated · 4 min read

An 800g tin of Kendamil holds about 186 scoops and makes about 5.6 litres of formula. How many days that lasts depends on how much your baby drinks. At 600ml a day, a tin lasts about 9 days. At 900ml a day, it lasts about 6.

How the maths works

Every Kendamil formula uses the same scoop: 1 level scoop (4.3g of powder) for every 30ml of water.

  • 800g ÷ 4.3g = about 186 scoops
  • 186 scoops × 30ml = about 5,580ml of formula

Estimates only. Real use is usually a bit higher, because leftover formula has to be thrown away after a feed.

How much formula does my baby drink a day?

The simplest way to find out is to add up a normal day: the amount in each bottle times the number of bottles. For example, 5 bottles of 150ml is 750ml a day, so a tin lasts about 7 days.

Your tin has a feeding table that shows typical amounts by age. Every baby is different, though. Feed on demand and ask your health visitor if you are worried your baby is drinking too much or too little. Babies having solid food from around 6 months, and toddlers on Stage 3, usually drink less formula, so a tin lasts longer.

Working out your monthly budget

Multiply the tins you need per month by the price of your range. Current prices for Classic, Organic and Goat are in our Kendamil prices in Ghana guide. Ordering a couple of tins at a time means you are not caught short between deliveries.
